The rumors of India thinking of banning BlackBerry service in that country got me started thinking. A recent posting on CrackBerry got me thinking about it again. (
RIM and Indian Government Still Fighting For a Solution | CrackBerry.com)
Because of the very strict IT policy in Singapore and China, a proxy was setup that logs and reports goings on to interested parties so that potential no-nos (and/or those people sending them) can be squashed.
My question is... if someone installs firmware released through a communications company in this region, would the configuration that comes along with it connect to the BlackBerry network through the same proxies, thus showing those governments what I am talking about?
