Back in the dark ages of bes 3.x using Desktop Manager I could specify public folders for redirection. Specifically, we have contact lists that are shared between different departments and groups that users would like to be able to synchronize to their phones.

However, when logged in with my BES Administrator account and I right click a user and select "Choose Folders for Redirection" there isn't an option to choose public folders.

Is this a problem with the bes admin's mapi profile? Is this a permissions issue in public folders? More importantly is this possible at all?

You can not redirect public folders to the handheld. so it is not possible at all.
