Default setting up IMAP through GMAIL

Please Login to Remove!

Is that also part of the PUSH technology?

Yes but most people report the delivery of messages to be much slower than if you configure your GMAIL for POP3 on the BIS.

POP3 is faster but I'd trade a few minutes of polling time for synced read, deleted, and sent e-mails anyday. I don't remember the last time I sat down to delete crap e-mails since IMAPPING.

So you're getting true two way syncing?

This is my biggest issue with the POP3 set up. Messages I delete on my desktop are not deleted from the device. I'm constantly having to go in and delete 20 messages at a time.

Deleting from the device does delete from the desktop though.

I may make the switch to IMAP if the two way sync is confirmed.

Well, it takes a lot longer to sync a read message from gmail to your blackberry if that's what you're asking. As far as everything else goes, everytime I read an email on my phone it's marked as read on gmail, every e-mail I delete is deleted on server, every e-mail I sent is saved under a "Sent Items" label in Gmail. It works great for me now, at first it disappointed me with a polling time of up to 15 minutes to sync, but it doesn't seem as bad anymore. It's usually a few minutes to sync up.

P.S if you like this, you'd love Google Calendar sync with your BB. It's beautiful. I do it for my college assignments, and I have iGoogle as my homepage with Calendar as a gadget, so I always have anything I put in my BB Calendar on my front page. Great stuff. <3 Google.

No what I'm asking is if messages you delete on your computer and then deleted from your BB (if they've been sent to the BB already)?

There's an existing discussion about GMail IMAP and BlackBerrys here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...p-support.html
Lots of information there as well. You might want to check that out and post there instead.
