Default downgraded to 3.8 - still have volume issues

7100T. I downgraded from 4.whatever to 3.8.0.128. The bluetooth volume issue was corrected, thank god, but I still have difficulty hearing through the phone. The speakerphone volume is fine.

I dropped the phone once a few weeks ago, but didn't think there was any damage. It's a pretty solid phone as we all know, plus my Vaja case took the brunt of the force.

The original software was 3.8. I know when I bought the phone, volume wasn't an issue. If the speakerphone works ok, is it possible the impact may have effected normal handset volume? I don't think I have a warranty either.

thanks
