whats the best GPS navigator
Please Login to Remove!
I tried telenav but it doesn't seem to work on my brand new tmobile 8120. What would you recommend. I need something that is similar to tomtom. That wheneve I move on the map the position changes along with me. I have my GPS reciever already.

TeleNav is hands down the best, SprintNav/Att Nav are the same things. Its also the most widely used in the states.

Telenav for me. I bought the Garmin for Blackberry for a year so I have that loaded too. It's a toy compared to Telenav imo.

I vote for TeleNav hands down. I have been using it for the past year after coming from a standalone system.

I thought Telenav was in the 5.0 range now.... not 1.5.... ? I'm talking about regular Telenav, not ATT's version...

Telenav is best but you may want to try Nav4All
I have been using Telenav for a year and find that it's only gotten better over that year. Once the traffic awareness started up I started using it every day in my morning commute. Telenav only works within North America, there is a European version but it is it's own software and service.
Nav4All is a good alternative that works internationally, in fact it's U.K. based. It is not as slick as Telenav in that it lacks the 3-D moving maps but it does have more features. One of the best features is that it will cost you nothing to try because it's free, at least until Jan. 2010. There is one "problem" with the software. Ever since I moved to my 8310 I get permissions prompt when starting up the application. I just save the changes and can proceed to use it. It just happens every time - if anyone has a fix for this please let me know...

im thinking about trying MapQuest Navigator 5.0 (although i hate mapquest.com) this looks to be a very good application.

I'm using Mapquest Navigator and really like it. For 50 bucks a year I figure you can't go wrong, it's twice that for TeleNav. I'm not a monthly fee kind of guy if I can avoid it.
FWIW, the only feature it doesn't have that I would like to see is directions to coordinates (for geocaching-although you can watch your coordinates without a map). I contacted Mapquest and this feature is in the works for future versions of Navigator.
The rerouting is faster than my dedicated standalone GPS, and the directions seem to be mostly spot-on.

I have test run both TeleNav and Mapquest. For me, Mapquest won hands down. One main reason is that on TeleNav, calls seem to go into voicemail when in use. The other reason is the price. Overall, it is worth trying this one out.
