Well then, seeing my post got closed in seconds, I'd also like to point out how willing they are to fix any issues. I'd have to say this APP rocks. This morning after reading about this app on yahoo news, i went to try and download the app, and the website was looping and not allowing me to DL to my 8310. After sending them an email explaining the issue, within about 5 hours I got a email stating they have fixed the problem. super coolness.

Works great! 8310 on AT&T. GPS work great and the voice recognition is good. I'm curious if it uses the built in mic, or makes use of Bluetooth? Also to note, it doesn't pick up curse words too well Why didn't I know about this sooner? Guess I should keep an eye open on the Aftermarket Software board more often.

No, I dont think the GPS on the 8830 will work with anything but VZ Navigator.

That's what I thought at first, but the GPS works just fine with my Google Maps. I didn't even need to set anything up. For this reason, there's got to be some way to get this to work with Tellme.

Google Maps uses cellular tower triangulation, not true GPS. The 8830 requires one to use a GPS puck (I use the Freedom Keychain 2000) with applications such as TellMe.

if it stays free, its a nifty to have app, i was impressed that it picked up my brooklyn accent and actually did a better job then the voice calling chic on my berry.

it picked up gps on refresh, but i was all day in doors so 2 tries :P

the maps are not that bad, they look decent wise. nifty app. if it stays free

Default Installed. 8830. Never connects to GPS

Hello. I installed the product on my Sprint 8830. Permissions all set to Allow. It never connects to GPS. Not sure what the problem may be. I went outside to be sure I had a good signal. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,

I know on my 8310, I've only gotton it to pick up the GPS signal once, out of a dozen or so attempts. Other apps (including live search and infospace) don't seem to have this problem.

Thumbs down No GPS

I downloaded it and I got a "No GPS" in the top right hand corner. Then I tried clicking "get gps" but after a few seconds it says "network busy try again later"

Is that (Freedom Keychain 2000) a program? I have the same phone as you on Vzn and I am having this same GPS connection issue

The Freedom Keychain is a GPS puck which communicates with your BB via Bluetooth.

I could not get the program to find/use my gps puck (I'm another verizon 8830 person). It seems to know generally where I am, but all of its results seem skewed to the downtown area of my city rather than my location. I get the feeling it is doing something like triangulation (to towers) rather than getting any gps signal from my Freedom puck.
