Let me guess, by one of those punk kids that work at a kiosk at a mall?

As far as WiFi, just think of it like using a laptop at a WiFi enabled area. You don't pay to surf the net with the laptop, so why should you have to pay with the BB?

You do have to have a Data plan to get the internet with the BB or to use it as a modem for the laptop. That is not free. Been there, done that. I just didn't know if WiFi was extra or not.

Well I guess it doesn't bother me too much, I use wi-fi at home, but I have voice disabled b/c calls either won't go through, or they will have horrible quality...I've tried everything under the sun...

When I tried logging on at the T-Mobile WiFi at Starbucks with my notebook, (not using BB as modem) they have a fee, so no, it is not free. I'm wondering since I do have the data plan that I can use the WiFi using the BB as a modem? When I tried it, they asked for a username and password.
