Default is youtube supposed to be like this on 4.5?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey, just upgraded to the 4.5 beta and everytime I watch videos on youtube over edge it usually takes a little while to load and even it starts playing right away, its really choppy and most of the time the screen is almost completely green. I only complain about this because I read other posts about how smoothly and quickly it was running for other ppl.

Again, you are still dealing with an unstable OS at this time.

That's why the OS is in Beta so far, even though you have been able to attain and install the OS, you should expect it to have some issues. When the bugs have been worked out of it they will then Officially release it.

What do you think the purpose of a beta application is?

I don't see any problem with him asking about a beta release. Everybody acts like they commit a major sin buy asking a question about a beta release. Why all the smart comments. What if it was just a setting that he missed. I thought the forum was 4 asking help?

I have no knowledge of OS 4.5 as do most of us here. And there are probably several versions running around. Who knows which the OP has.

When I do beta tests, we report the issues on a site especially for that, not a public forum such as this.

If you are running an unauthorized beta version, then you should be prepared to take the problems that come with it, and not expect help from those outside the beta.

I'm sorry, but how are you supposed to watch youtube on the blackberry? Is that a new feature in the 4.5 os? How are you supposed to view it? Through an application or within the BB browser?

Thanks for the replies guys. But yeah, I know what the purpose of a beta is and I was just asking in case it was a setting I missed or something. Thanks anyway.

I was unable to get YouTube to work on .10, but I just recently installed .18 on my 8300, and m.youtube.com works fine.

Had the beta for a few days just playing around on it, mobile youtube worked fine for me. The beta was fun to get a preview of whats to come, but it is what it is, a beta that has a few wrinkles to be ironed out.

I think I should also mention that my BBs youtube performance over EDGE is shaky. I think it usually runs fine when I'm using WIFI. Well, today I did a battery pull, and for the first few videos I tried it worked fine over EDGE. The next few I got the same error message saying something similar to "server blocked content" or something I don't remember. I waited a while and tried again only to get the same green screen. A little while later I tried again and a video downloaded and streamed fine with the exception of just a little audio delay. Just thought I should mention it. I hope that the shaky performance is just a beta quirk. But I wanted to ask, everyone here who reports mobile youtube as working fine, is that over EDGE or WIFI?
