Is the internal GPS disabled?
BB Maps and Telenav cannot see it. External BT puck works fine.

Many Pearls (seems to be related to your carrier) have a very poor GPS, constantly searching for satellites. They eventually find one, but it can take a long time with numerous resets and cache clears. And you need to have clear line of sight to the sky.
