We are now requiring a password on devices, and so far one user wants to be off BES. What is the best way to take someone off the server and get everything working on BIS? I applied a default IT policy but when she sends mail it looks like its still trying to go through bes.

I've never taken a Blackberry back this way before, and not sure of the process.

I don't know much about removing the account from the BES, etc. but I do know that the service books need to be removed from the device. All service books labeled [Desktop]

Apply the default policy and delete her from the BES. Then set up BIS. The password settings will still be there (according to your configured policy), but she will have the ability to change them once she is in Default. If she or you want the BB back to default completely, you will have to wipe the device.

I hope she realizes that she will no longer be able to wirelessly sync her calendar, contacts and tasks if she is off BES - but I guess you get what you deserve. I detest whiney users who have no regard for security.

Wiping the device does not put the BB back to default completely. The policy can't be completely removed without OS 4.5. Things like Application Permissions remain locked and the firewall remains locked on.

Ok, thanks. I figured Desktop [Sync] should go, wasn't sure of the others. I think she'll be back. I've gotten some resistence, since the Blackberries at my firm are owned by the individual and how can we dictate a password, etc. Its not even all that tight of a policy. I only got 4 character minimum with 30 minute timeout and no expiration.

Oh well, I got a license back if she doesn't come back Blackberry in hand.
