Default Message Prepop not occurring after SP5 Upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All,

I installed SP5 to all my servers this weekend and since no old messages are being brought down to new units once EA'ed. This goes for both users already on the server and new users. My prepopulation settings are still where they were at 14 days and 750 messages. I tried changing them to something else and back to reapply the setting but it didn't make a difference. I verified the settings were there in the database as well.

Any ideas?

What does the MAGT logs show? They should state if the BEs is trying to trigger the pre-pop or not.

actually, about 30 minutes after the EA finished the prepop messages came down, which is really weird.

called rim and they said they had someone else mention this and they are looking into it because they don't think it should be acting like this.

I was actually called about this last week and saw it myself Friday before I left. Something is different as the slow sync seems to kick in after the EA is complete.

perhaps to take some of the strain off of the bandwidth and cpu on the device so the core stuff can be completed during ea?

RIM confirmed to me that this is an issue with 4.1.5. Pre-pop may take 20-30 minutes after activation has completed.
