I was wanting to know if I really needed to pay for the internet services in order to get my GPS to work. I don't use the internet on my BB at all. I was told when I got my service that I have to have the internet to get the GPS system to work. All I would like is for someone to let me know if this it true or not. Seems an awful lot to have to pay, 30 for internet on top of the 10 for the GPS service. Thanks to anyone that can answer my question.

Yes you do, but google has a GPS app that is free to download so you don't have to pay a monthly fee for GPS

GPS locating is free.

You need a data plan for the mapping applications like Google Maps.

But there are a few programs which allow you to download maps in advance and place them on an SD card and then you don't need data on the phone. Trekbuddy is one such application
