Hi all

I am setting up a BES that uses a BB Router in Germany at Head Office (I am in the UK). During setup, I can't install everything apart from the BB Router service - if I do install everything then I get to the SRP setup, and it won't connect because the server has no route to do so directly to uk.black.......

You need to have a direct route to the UK BES Router; else well ... it won't work.

Sorry for not making a clear question.

There is no BB router in the UK. Just a BES server. The only external route to the SRP servers is through the Germany BB Router. During setup I cannot specify this router as my connection if you like, so I get as far as SRP details and the installation has to stop. There is not a connection from UK BES to srp.uk.blackberry.net and they will never be, and because of the network architecture there can't be - or should I say there is not allowed to be!

So, how can I get round this? - I need to get BES installed to be able to change the router IP address as per your link to the support document!

Ok ... so complete the install, don't start the services, make the configuration change, and then start the services ... what's the confusion?

It won't let me complete the install without it testing the connection to srp.uk.blackberry.net, I can't continue so I can't finish it to be able to then make the changes.

Ahhh; guess you're between a rock and a hard place. I can't recall ever having this type of issue; sorry.

Thanks for your help! What you were suggesting is exactly what I want to do but the blasted installer won't let me! Oh well! I'll keep trying
