Default Message box help

Please Login to Remove!

First I want to thank everyone for all the help. I am a first day Blackberry owner and I am a bit overwhelmed. When my Email and texts go in to the message box is there a way to seperate them? Also can you delete all of the messages at once?

Yes. In the Message Folder
hit Menu>options>General Options>SMS and Inboxes>(SEPARATE)

Good Luck!

Thanks! Is there a reason that I would want to keep the message box icon on the screen when I have the Email and Text icons there?

It's all personal preference. Just open the application list highlight the icon and press menu>move. Drag it anywhere you wish.

Wirelessly posted

Or you could also hide the extra icon.

Thanks. That was confusing having 2 applications that receive the same messages.

Go to the top of your email list and go to menu and hit delete prior.

Is there any reason I shouldn't hide the "Messages" icon?

Why in the world are their 2 email icons anyway? One icon says that it is messages and the other icon says my email address????

Messages is for all incoming messages unless you separate SMS and MMS under Options. That includes all email (BES & BIS), SMS, MMS, PIN as well as saved browser requests, saved web pages, call logs if you enabled call logging, etc.

Again, it depends on how you use your BB and how you want it set up. If you're on BES and not using Empower's app to create a separate icon for BES mail it's probably a bad idea to hide Messages. If you rely on saved browser pages/requests or use the call logging feature in Messages it's probably a bad idea to hide Messages.
