Default DM 4.6.0.6 not seeing new OS to load

Please Login to Remove!

BB8300 with current OS 4.2.2.146_P2.4.0.62

Installed OS 4.5.0.42_P2.7.0.60 (can't find 4.5.0.44) and Desktop Manager 4.6.0.6

When I try to load the new OS, DM says there's nothing new to load. Any ideas?

Did you delete the vendor.xml file?

Oh yea, thanks. Been so long since I installed a non-official release I forgot about that. It's all good now.

I hope you're not spreading OS's via PM ....We can't control PM's but if I were you I wouldn't be advertising.

It usually has to do with 3rd party apps loaded on the device, and also can have to do with themes. There are so many variants of installs in combination with other applications that many things can happen. Also, due to my post about optimizing BB's memory many people try to remove other .cod's trying to free up even more memory and end up with problems on the BB.

I loaded 4.6 DM a week or so ago and loaded 4.5 on a day or two ago and all went well and smooth.

NOTE: DO not ask me for either of these programs I will report you to the Staff of BBF

I got 4.5.0.42 loaded up fine once I deleted the vendor.xml. Took a long time for the phone to go through it's reboot/reload deal, but the actual process of backup/delete/load wasn't very long at all. Some really nice new stuff in 4.5. Thumbs up.

My free memory was under 7 megs at first. Had to go read some stuff on freeing up memory. Deleted a few apps I never used, deleted the BB Sample video, modified the settings on media since I have a 2gb card. Got up to about 15 meg free on a clean reboot.

Memory leak doesn't seem to be bad at all. My 8300 is pretty clean. I have a few Google Apps, Opera 4.1, BoA Mobile Banking, Berry-A-Code, and BeamBerry.

First off I didn't steal anything it was given to me. Am I supposed to have it maybe, maybe not but the point is you really dont know do you?

The reason for my note is because people here cant follow the rules of the forums we can talk about the programs all we want but it is against the rules to distribute it or ask for it on the forums and there are many here that will drive you crazy asking for it. So if you don't like what I have to say I don't care.

What have you offered in this thread besides criticism?

Some people here have it legitimately.

haha , i wasn't suggesting you stole anything nor did i state you had it in any other way but legitimate. however if you "floss" your new OS to otherwise fanatic BB fans like myself and then turn around and "remind" people of the rules by saying "i have it but don't ask me for it" well it just sounds to me a bit childish. if you don't want to be asked for it then maybe you shouldn't show it ( OS ) off ... otherwise my first thought as well as others might be : " hey , you have the new OS for my blackberry on your BB so , do u think i could have a copy ? " . even though we all know the rules about asking for those things , its still some peoples reaction ( me included ) . now your attitude at my criticism as i felt reading your response has left me slightly dismayed at any further response to you or anyone else so i bid you a good day and god bless. i don't think arguing about technology someone else owns over the internet is very mature so i will bow out and merely read on about this subject rather than comment . no harm , no fowl. Still love BB and can't wait till I can have the new OS or that new BB Bold ...
