Hello....I have been playing around with creating my own theme for my 8700 with os 4.2. I have figured out most things so far and have come up with a nice theme for myself. On my last version of this theme I can no longer change the font when going to screen/keyboard options on the BB. No matter what I change that setting to, the bb will only display BBMilibankTall as the font in the message list, bookmark page, etc. Does anyone know what setting I screwed up and how I can fix this?

If you customize any part of a font in Theme Builder, it will override the device options.

Okay, but as I was creating this theme I made several "versions" as I was making changes. Out of 8 different versions that I have only the last one seems to have this problem.



Plus I don't see any option for chaning the font for the "options" page or for the bookmarks list page...those are set through the "screen/keyboard" settings right??? My problem is that whatever I set in screen/keyboard will only display BBMillibankTall as the font even is I set it BBCasual or any other font.

Is there an option that sets the font to "uneditable" or something?? Could I have mistakenly made it permanantly set to BBMillibankTall?

BBmillbank Tall must be the font you have set in theme builder. As I said, this will override the settings in screen/keyboard. Even if you leave it as the default, and change the colour, the theme builder font will be the only font used. You have to set all fonts to default in theme builder in order for device settings to be used.

This is where I am confused...I have all the fonts changed in theme builder...none of them are millbanktall, since I don't even like that font, I have checked all my font settings and none are set to that...could the theme file be corrupted somehow? Do I need to rebuild the theme?

I think what Perfect Storm is trying to say is that the font has to be BBmillbank Tall in Theme Builder.

I understand what PS is saying, but I am saying that I double checked every possible option for fonts and none of them are BBmillbankTall. They are only the ones that I have set with the options I have set for them. I'm not sure how else I can explain it.

Those are the fonts that I have set up. How can anything be showing BBMillbankTall when I don't even have it selected anywhere???

I was going to suggest taking a screen shot... But that works too.

Perfect Storm: Are you saying that they have to be set to BBMillbankTall? The way you worded things by saying that BBMillBankTall must be the font, it is hard to tell whether you are saying that it is what he has the font set as, or that is what it should be.

With the font settings that I just posted above, here is a screenshot of my screen/keyboard menu once I have changed the font to BBcasual, saved, and have gone back into the screen

From using other themes, this screen should be in the bbcasual font, but for some reason it doesn't change with my theme anymore.

You know that you can not change the font in the menu and message list, right? Changing the font in the screen/keyboard setting will only change the font inside of emails, on BBMessenger, Jivetalk, and some other third party applications.

No, the OP has had some confusing posts, and I thought this was another "I changed the font in screen/keyboard and it won't show it" which can only be resolved by reverting theme fonts to their defaults.

I would suggest reverting all fonts on the dialog, messages, and menus tab to default and re-exporting/reinstalling the theme. See if the issue persists. (remembering that BBMillbank IS the default, but you will now be able to change it in screen/keyboard). Then change one font at a time, export and install after each to confirm.
