hey, new to the forums, couple of ??'s.

hey guys, new to the forum.
I got my blackberry pearl for christmas, and instantly fell inlove with it. In march though i was having issues with the trackball. i called and got a new bb sent to me. now my phone has been messing up again, this time sending texts by itself, calling people, etc etc (no water damaged what so ever, the phone is my baby). have any of you had these problems before? btw, i have upgraded to a curve and should be getting it soon. how is the curve compared to the pearl. thank you guys in advance .

Do you carry the Pearl in your purse or a pocket? Often what you describe is found with those that do. But to answer your question... yes, a few users here have posted that they have had those problems too.
Good luck with the Curve, I think you will love it as well.

yeah, its always in my purse. so i guess im going to buy a clip for it so it doesn't happen again. the curve was my first choice but to expensive @ the time. i'm wicked excited for it =)

You need to lock the keyboard if you carry it in your purse, or get a BB holder, that turns the handheld "off" when it is in the holder.

Locking the keypad should fix the problem, however carrying it in a holster is a wonderful idea.

Welcome to the forum. I carry mine in my purse too but I have a particular slot that the pearl fits in like my bag was made for the pearl. And locking the keypad is a must. I use my magnetic holster case depending on what I'm wearing.

I had multiple problems with my pearl (s) I went through 4 of them as I had track ball problems and then there was another issue that looked like a memory issue where it would not send text when i was on the phone and kept timing out.
I love the pearl and still have one as a back up phone but i did switch my main phone to the curve and have not had one issue with it. I have not even had to do a battery pull on it. So far it has been flawless.
