Ok I have the same exact following issue documented in this KB article.

Three time it will not start and I get the same error. I tried uninstall and reinstall and I also tried the regedit to no avail. The service will not start.

I don't know if it's my environment. I have a 4.0.6 and 4.1.5 pointed to the same DB (sql 2005). I have installed the Resource Kit on a separate server. Do I need to install some patches or other items on that server before trying this service.

Try using BlackBerryManager as your MAPI profile name during the useradminservice install.

4.0 is not support in a 2005 sql enviro

It's the 4.1.5 Resource Kit that will not start. I've tried the BlackBerryManager and still have the same eventlog entries. I've looked at the 4.0.6 registry entries and they pretty much matchup to what I have entered.

Really puzzled here.

Do you have MAPI components installed on the machine that you've installed the resource kit on?

I've installed the Exchange 2003 SP2 System Manager components on the server. I don't think there are any others.

ok i solved the problem...

went thru the following...
1. removed service
2. rebooted
3. ran besprofile.exe with a new profile name
4. installed service and refrenced profile name
5. service started.
