Go to Options/Mobile Network

Then go down to your carrier and hit the roller. It should bring up an option to run the diagnostics test. If your data plan is set up through your carrier, this should fix your problem. Run the test, give it a minute to finish, and when it's done your phone should have the Internet Browser option on it to go along with MediaNet. For some reason, when your browser is configured to MediaNet, they will not allow you to change the home address. When your configuration gets changed to Internet Browser, you will be allowed.
Did everything you mentioned. The diagnostics test went fine, but the browser is still set to Internet Browser and my homepage cannot be changed. Plus, that's the only option for me to choose from.

OK, I had the same situation as you, and FINALLY figure this out.

From the standard homepage, you CANNOT change the homepage in options\browser config.

From many pages, like drudgereport.com, you CANNOT change the homepage.

If you fire up your browser, let it load the crappy standard homepage, and then google "cant change browser home page" without the quotes, and go to this very thread, you have the option to USE CURRENT, or change the home page to whatever you want.

This took me days to figure out, but it finally works for me. Try it out!

Default I was having the same problem

I was having the same problem. All I wanted was to get my browser to open with the Google/'Go to...' page again. But after going through both Internet Browser & WAP Browser settings for an hour or so...

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!! :D

Go into your browser, go to any web-page, menu button> select 'Add Bookmark'. Menu button again> select 'Bookmarks', scroll down to the bookmark you just added, menu button> select 'Edit Bookmark', type in "about:start" for Address and "Home Page" for Name, select 'Accept'. You don't have to but me/myself don't want 2 pages that say "Home Page" so changing the name of the other bookmark (mobile.blackberry.com) would be a good idea too. Name it whatever you want - like "Undeletable Page" or something. Me, I put "STUPID PAGE" respectively. LOL

OR....

If you have a bookmark that you've wanting to delete or don't use, just edit that one with "about:start" for the Address and "Home Page" for the Name, accept and you're done!
