Is everybody having a dialpad issue with .114?

I am hearing the keyboard is popping up instead of the dialpad. There is a fixed posted in another thread but it looks a little complicated.

What say all of you running .114?

There is a quick fix for the keyboard while calling. I just went to my options and changed the keyboard from Suretype to multitap. Now it brings up numbers during a call. Now of course this was only acceptable to me because I do the vast majority of my typing (text/email) in landscape...so it didn't affect me as much as it could other people.

As for overall performance, I've been running .114 for about 24 hrs. Not nearly the memory leak I had with .109, seems to have a better radio and also seems to be less battery drain. But I'm not getting my hopes up; .109 ran great the first week or so, then went downhill.

clubchecker,

for what it's worth, here is a total fix to the keyboard appearing during the phone call process. I am still on the fence about downloading .114. I am running .103 and not having any issues that have me desparate for an ungrade.

I have .114 and it's pretty good so far. I've had the most free app memory and the battery ain't to bad, either. the only issue i had was the kb/dialpad mixup, but after running the fix it's better now. I liked .103 but after a day i'd go from 30mb to 10mb with nothing open. plus, i use my storm for both personal and work emails so i'm always typing and the new text editing box thing is way better if i make a grammatical error.

Thats odd. I didnt/dont have the Keypad issue when using the phone. Mine automatically pulled up the dial pad.

I do notice that the transition from landscape to portrait, and back, isnt as smooth as .103 or .109. I'll continue to test it out for a few more days and if it starts to act up, I'll downgrade.

Just a bit.

I'm downrading back to .103 now though. I cant stand loosing EDGE at very imporant times. It keeps going back to edge even though I replaced the radio files.

I like stability

I think the danger of verizon taking so long is..what if this new OS isn't as good as were expecting?

Ok, I just downgraged back to .103 and now I have issues connecting to EDGE. It connects to EDGE and stays there except when I want to use BerryTunes. Then EDGE turns to edge.

Can someone who is running berrytunes successfully on EDGE with .103 please tell me your mobile network settings?

Thanks,
Scott

cscotty,

so glad I heeded your advice and stayed on .103.

If Verzion releases an OS that is lower than .130 I am staying right where I am at. I read in another blog that all the releases in the .120's still have serious radio issues.

lol. I wish I listened to my own advice. I just loaded .76 back on. Unless there is a real significant, cant miss, whoa!, kind of beta, its all official releases for me!

...back to slow camera, and suretype in portrait

Problem being...it's been what 4 months since an official update? You're much more patient than I am....if I was still running "official" OS I'd have chucked that Storm in the Gulf of Mexico over Xmas break.

masked,

bump up to .103, more stable, great camera function, and faster accelerometer.

I ran .99 for a couple weeks for .103 was available. I am stickin with .103 for now.

I am not buying a Storm until it is sold with the up to date fully tested software.

That's certainly a valid opinion. And I would whole-heartedly recommend that you stick to your guns.

I happen to enjoy trying the new OS versions as they are release. Or maybe I should say, I'm glad that I have that option. If this were the state of my last WinMo device after purchase, and I couldn't participate in testing new versions, I'd be ticked sticking with the release version.

That is, of course that the initial version were this half-baked. None of my WinMo devices were this bad in reliability and bug-free operation. In fact, my receptionist at my vet commented on my Storm (forgot my wallet and was looking up my debit card #), and I told her: unless you're a geek and like to fiddle, do NOT get this phone!

I like it, and it keeps me plenty entertained, but I have high hopes for future releases. I just downgraded from 103 > 114 > 109, but may be going back to 103 if the next week doesn't prove tolerable.

Verizon told my friend yesterday it would come out this month and they were already receiving new phones periodically with an upgraded OS, but I don't know the version number...
