Default New Verizon firmware update?

Please Login to Remove!

I keep seeing links to new leaked updates. I think they are now up to .114? I got my Storm in December and running the original OS .075. Does anyway have any insight on when Verizon will have there official updated release? Been anxiously waiting for 3 months now and look forward to the improvements.

Thanks,

Chad

And only follows the supposed official release the first week of February, and then the first week of March, and then...

I just don't understand why they do not want to get the improvements out there as soon as possible. what has there been about 8 leaked releases so far, and not 1 official one?

Technically speaking, if they have .75 released, and we're passing .114, that is about 39 releases behind the ball.

Remember one thing--Verizon has been one of the slowest carriers worldwide to release new OS updates for any BlackBerry. They were one of the last to release 4.5 for the 8xxx devices, months later. With the one exception of released .75 two weeks after the launch of the 9530, they do not have the reputation nor history to move fast on any of this.

gentleman. The install took about 20 minutes and i'm back in full force. I've got a tad bit more free space and it seems like it's running faster than ever. I guess we'll see what happens over a little time. Lastly, theres a special surprise for you.... check it out.

I just got a new Storm from a Verizon corp. store on Sun. 2/8/09. 'They' (the tech) said a new o/s upgrade was going to be released in the next week or two.

They also said Verizon wants to test their upgrades 'fully' before implementation and offered to update my 2 Storms at the store...

Yes! I fixed it! I tried my method twice just to make sure that it works.

If anyone installs .114 or any previous unofficial/leaked version and you find that you cannot hear calls, your caller cannot hear you, or when you try to use the phone feature you see a phone and headset icon in the top left side of the screen, try this method. It worked for me, but I take no responsibility if it will work for you or if it damages your phone (I just have to put that):

Method 1 (recommended and easy method):
  1. Reinstall the OS with a pair of headphones plugged in. Plug it out once the OS has been installed and you are ready to make a call.

Method 2 (harder method):
  1. After the install, ensure that all your connections are set up so that you can send and receive calls, even though you cant hear anything.
  2. Obtain another phone (whether home phone or another cell phone) and call your cell phone.
  3. Once your cell phone begins to ring, do not pick it up yet. Plug some headphones in the headphone jack, and then answer the call.
  4. Let the call run for 5 minutes (it may be less, but both times I tried it, I did it for about 5 minutes) and then put the call on hold using the alternate phone (home phone, or another cell phone).
  5. Once on hold, plug out your headphones, and you should be able to select ACTIVATE SPEAKERPHONE or ACTIVATE HANDSET on the screen.
  6. Yay, you now have sound!

    Hope this helps,
    Scott

I'm also interested in the new Storm only version of VZ Navigator that is due out any day. It was promised this quarter and somebody on tech support told me a few days ago that it should be any day. I believe this is different then the global version that is also due this quarter.
