this problem has only just start to occur on my blackberry, after a period of time left my blackberry will go to a black screen then re-boot itself (just like when you take the battey out and put it back in again) and its just doing this at any time there's no specific time it does it. I was just wondering if there's a solution to this problem at all and how to do it ?? im from the UK and im supplier is T-Mobile. Im also having a signal problem, in places where i have a excellent signal has now become a complete and utter poor one, just wondering it might be the weather as we're having snow storms in my area.

Need help ASAP before i go and replace the phone.

Check your files free in options > status. I don't know what the recommended amount is nowadays with the newer devices with more memory and the new OS versions. Copy and paste the amount here and get an opinon from someone who knows.

At any rate, rebooting like you describe is usually low memory. The amount you have in files free will indicate whether that is indeed the problem or not. If it is, the solution is going to be to free up memory......If you have any media (pictures, video, music) stored in main memory you need to move it to a micro SD media card. Too may apps? Delete the ones you don't need. Ditto third-party themes.

Also check the number of apps you have running at the same time, and pay attention to apps that are sent to run in the background when closed.

I have 127881968 bytes free which is around 127 mb ?? and yea i backed up the device yesterday it removed apps world from the phone and now its running fine signal aswell so was this the problem ??

That is definitely sufficient file free.

What do you mean, "it" removed apps world? Did you remove it, or did it somehow disappear? If it just disappeared, it's possible you accidently hid the icon, moved it to a folder, or both. Look in options > advanced options > applications, or options > applications and see if it is still installed.

Is it still doing ok since you posted? If so, I don't have an answer as to why. See what happens over the next 24 hours.

Well i backed up the files and when it came back on blackberry world was gone but i still have 3 apps from there still in the phone but ever since i did it, its worked good as new and its working fine now. BTW App world is still in the phone what should i do with it ?

EDIT : yep its not lol it just rebooted itself again but thats the first time today

Probably the best option to fix the reboots is to wipe the device with Jl_cmdr (see the FAQ) and reload the OS (yellow sticky at the top of the 8500 section.

Make sure that you have a good back up and that you follow the directions in the sticky exactly.

Yeah... You have more going on than you recognize. An app should not just disappear, and not when doing a backup. That should be a red flag to you.

I'd say Dubdub's advice is probably best. Wipe the device and start over. Be cautious with the third-party apps and themes you install.

Welcome to the group.

Take it slow with the OS reinstall. Don't get impatient. There's a point where you'll be sure it quit. Just leave it until you get the confirmation that it is done.
