Default problem picking up VM using the #1 key

Please Login to Remove!

My blackberry 8703 no longer automatically goes to voice mail when I press key #1. The screen reads "invalid phone number." How do I change this back so it will work using key #1 like it did originaly?

Remove the battery from the device and reinsert. It should reset your voicemail speed dial.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Check with carrier and make sure you still have a valid VM # for your carrier

actually the correct thing to do is go into your speed dials and delete the speed dial associated with the 1 key (even though there is nothing assigned). it will work again after that.

I can check my voice mail with no problem when I dial my number manually. It is only with the #1 key the number 1 key that it is no longer working.

As posted above, delete any number in the "W" speed dial and then reboot the phone. Just try it.

ok, have you taken any of the suggestions made here... pull the battery to reboot, check to make sure the number has not "disappeared" from that key? Try those suggestions, please. One of them is the key, i am betting.

This happened to me when I upgraded my 8320 to OS .175. Even though my "W" field in the Speed Dial list was empty, I deleted the "W" field anyway. Then I removed the battery to reboot the BB, and it now works.

Very helpful. My 8300 was in the same boat after I updated its OS last week. This process just brought it back. Thanks.

I haven't upgraded my OS but all of a sudden had this problem.

Rebooting did not work.

Deleting the "W" field in the Speed Dial list (it was empty), and THEN rebooting fixed it.
