At the risk of being a major bore I still cannot get the best out of my BB 8100 as I cannot get software for my PC to work with my 8100. I downloaded the latest software from the BB site last night, but when I try to sync my 8100 it states that the software is different to that on the mobile.

Not sure where to from here

There are two pieces of software, Desktop Manager and the Handheld OS. You downloaded both. Now when you start Desktop Manager, you are being told that the version of the Handheld OS is different between what is loaded on your PC and on your BB.

Which one is newer?

The download was V4.2 service pack 2 without the media manager which I could not download.

Handset is 4.2.067. which by the way as of last night is not receiving emails-although I can send them

DId you download a version of the HANDHELD OS for the 8100?

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan? What does it show at the top line on the BlackBerry.

Not sure, had assumed that I had downloaded it with the transfer. Sorry on which screen would I find reference to a data plan?
