iPod MP4 format is typically recorded using H.264 compression. The Curve, and the 8800/8100 for that matter, won't decode h.264...only h.263. The file format is the same (MP4) but the codecs make all the difference.
You will need to use another program to convert your iPod MP4's to BBerry MP4's. If this is for the curve, the 320x240 image size should be the same however.
With the settings I use on my Mac-based conversion software (VisualHUB for me), I convert non-Curve media by applying the following settings:
video:320x240, bitrate 250, framerate 15
Audio: 22050hz, bitrate 32
Using these settings, converting a Hi-def WMV clip that is 45 mins long and measuring a whopping 550megs in size is converted down to about a 75meg file. That 75 meg file xfers via USB cable to the Curve media card in about 3 mins.
Hope that helps.
