Default BB VS TREO w/Goodlink

Please Login to Remove!

Now I no this is a BB place and I've got to be honest I have been researching BB,s for a month now and I've decided to go with the 7290 with ATT when it comes out for ATT.

The Company I work for has told us that they will not be going with BB and that they are going with PalmOne. This is OK with me because I'll go with BB and work around the obsticles. I haven't even looked at the Treo 600 because I was told it didn't support push email. I started thinking this couldn't be true (why would my company go this route). So I broke down and took a look at the Treo.

What I found was it does have True push email called Goodlink technology. Can you BB experts give me the good and bad? Has anyone used a treo setup with Goodlink Technology? Thanks in advance for all your comments. :D

I looked at Goodlink when it first came out. Actually, they let us use it before it came out about 3 years ago. I have looked at it again lately and still stay with Blackberry. The only thing Good had over RIM was wireless provisioning of devices and totaly wireless synch. With 4.0 coming out in the next 45 days or so, RIM has that covered and better than Good, I believe.

I have a friend who has BES and Goodlink server with Treo and he is totally frustrated with the goodlink. Emails are delayed, he says, like 5 minute delays consistantly where RIM consistently delivers email within seconds to the BB. Also, RIMS MDS is far better than good's Infolink.

Lastly, there was post on here a while ago pointing to an article where the writer had revied Good and Blackberry and Blackberry was rated higher pretty substantially. maybe someone can remember where that article was and post it again here.

Thos are my thoughts. I stick with RIM.

Great article, thanks. I really wish my Company would go with RIM and BES.

i spoke to a former colleague who's company has both implemented. they were first using BES but later adopted Good in addition. he prefers the Good environment and said that, for now, it provides better management and broader functionality over BES. his company is one of the larger online job search companies in america, so i guess they have the money to do it.. i think he said they have about 600-700 units split between the two different services.
