I would like peoples advice and tips on which way to go. I want to buy a BB in a few week. I don;t know which one to get though. I have AT&T. I want a BB that would be able to VIEW and EDIT word documents. That way, I could transfer documents to my BB, edit them during meetings and school, and then transfer them back to my blackberry. Which one should I get?
Also, does Word come with the phone or do I have to buy it separate?
The two Curves and 8800 AT&T offers can open word documents from e-mail attachments. In my knowledge (correct me, if I'm wrong, anyone), but you would have to buy a program to be able to edit Word, Excel documents.
Word will not run on the BB. If you really need the capability to work with Word, the BB is probably not for you and you should look at a Windows Mobile device.
Also, there is no easy way to transfer documents back and forth. The SD card is only for music and pictures. I do not think you can store other data files on it. I could be wrong, however.
I had an E62 and it was better suited for office software than a Blackberry. Personally, once the novelty of typing on a PDA wears off you will probably find yourself using a laptop to do office docs. It is a lot faster and easier.

once i get an email with a doc attached and when there's a need for me to correct it, i'd rush up to a PC; but yeah, you can buy an app that can help you edit docs on the fly; either way, i'm keeping my BB

I agree 100%. The screens are just too small to do any meaningful edit or otherwise work on a word, excel or powerpoint file.
Palm is not my competitor. It may work better for you though. I like the smokin' e-mail of the Berry. You won't get that with any other device that I am aware of.
My suggestion is you talk to friends, family, coworkers, etc and see what devices they use, why, and how they like them. Then go try out one or two at a local AT&T store. I think you can get a 30 day trial, but my gues sis that you will see which is better for you in a short while.
One comment against the Treo is that it is a much older design than some of the newer WM6 devices. Look at the Tilt and the Blackjack to see if either of those fit your needs. It really doesn't seem that the BB is for you.
