Default Numeric Paging to BlackBerry?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know of a service to send numeric pages (via telephone) to a BlackBerry?

There are a couple of old threads that mention NumericPage and Pagica. NumericPage is out of business. I've been using Pagica with great success, but I just got a notice that they're going out of business as of December 31, 2007.

I realize that there's a message here, but ... are there any other options? I know it can be done through voicemail, but that isn't the solution for me for a variety of reasons.

Many thanks!

You could try teleflip - just send to the 10 digit phone number @teleflip.com. Free and works pretty good from what I've seen.

I'm wondering about this too. Is there any way to make it page/beep you like a beeper? I'm trying to get rid of one piece of hardware to carry around.

Some wireless carrier has an option to "page the person" when you reached the person's voicemail. It normally sends the number of the phone you are calling from but I think you can also change the number. ATT has this.

Thanks for the response. However, I need to have people send a numeric page to my BlackBerry from a regular telephone, not as an e-mail message.

Well I think I'm going to try Grand Central. I have a number set up and instead of having people dial my pager, I'm going to have them dial the Grand Central number and when they do, it will call my cell phone and be identified as a Grand Central caller and I'll know where they called from. I figure a call is no more intrusive than a beeper. And it will send me an email which I get on my Blackberry of a new voicemail if I miss it.

Default What is it? Call it and find out!

As the voice prompt says, it's

"Welcome to Cingular Wireless Interactive Messaging Service. To send a numeric page to a Cingular Wireless phone, please enter the phone's ten-digit number". (enter digits, follow the prompt)

There are no charges beyond whatever it costs you to receive an SMS. So if you have a messaging plan, you're OK. If not, it's $.15 a pop (or page).

Sprint and t-mobile do this too.
