When I go to a meeting, I want to turn off all sounds the bb makes... phone ringer, message notifier, etc.

Is there a way to do this globally?

I tried that mute button on the top, but I don't see any indicator on the screen that it's activated.

Does the 8703e have a "profile" setting like the 8320?
If so, you can select the "quiet" profile.
I have a 8320 so I can do it but dont really know about a 8703e.

Yes, the 8703e has the quiet setting. It's totally silent in that mode.

Or use the Profile "off" that turns all sounds off.... even the alarm
