Angry Work has required password, how to bypass?

Please Login to Remove!

My work recently installed a file on the blackberry server requiring me to set a 6 character password with strong security (so I could not make it XXXXXX). So now everytime it times out (which is 10min) I must re-enter the password in order to make a call, recieve a call or check messages... Has anyone encountered this (it's insane!!) and is there a way around without uninstalling the file? I have tried to wipe it clean and reinstall and it's still there. HELP PLEASE, going crazy here! Any suggestions are welcomed.

Welcome to the forums.

There is no way around it if your company has enforced it. Trying to remove the IT Policy will be pointless since the IT Policy will be pushed down again (with the required password) as soon as your device communicates with the BES again.

And you could lose your job if you continue to try to circumvent the security.

You can talk to you BES admin and find out if:

A) You can extend the timeout before it locks (we allow users to go up to 1 hour of inactivity before the device locks)
B) You are allowed to set the device to allow phone calls while locked (Options -> Security Options -> General Settings).

Nothing you can do about this... Your admin that controls all the phones for your work can add/remove programs and do restrictions at his/her will. You would have to bring this issue up with your admin.

By the way you know that by passing security features on a company owned device could result in you not ever having to worry about that password ever again

By the way, the 'strong security' may not be something set from the IT Policy that is pushed to your device. I was able to use that on my 7130e, but when I switched to the 8830 (with the same IT Policy) I wasn't allowed to use repeating characters.

I think that's a restriction of the OS.

Learn to live with it. Not much you can do, other than quit the job, or keep messin' with it and get fired for violating a security policy.

Default Yep, and they over-wrote my account Password, too

I have a corporate BB8800 so it's really their phone, granted.

I had established an account password months ago so they could validate me easily when I called. Tonight I called in to extend the ring time before transfer to VM, and found my account password has been changed. I guess the master corporate IT BB phone guy can do this.

I, too, have the password issue but I did set it to the max allowable in the phone security settings (10 mins I believe). It accepts "ZXCZXC" as a 6 digit password. That's the easiest combo my eyesight and fat fingers could find.
