Default Profile changes automatically 8703e 4.2

Please Login to Remove!

I never had this come up with the 4.1 OS.

I dont know if its a key combination thats being hit and Im unaware of it? The issue is, I always keep the BB on 'vibrate' but for some reason it gets changed to 'normal' at times and I havent changed it.

Any help would be appreciated on this.

Thanks!

Interesting. I don't know of any timed/auto change of profile settings.

The only thing I can think of is that with 4.2 my top mute button toggles between vibrate and whatever profile was selected last when I press and hold, whether it's holstered or not. I could never get the 8703 to do this on 4.1

Thanks I forgot about that. Its a nice feature and is probably what the OP is seeing.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

This is great... I saw this thread the other day. Never had a problem, but subscribed out of curiosity. Then later I was fumbling around and found I had set my profile to vibrate. Couldn't figure out what I had done. Played with the concenience keys.... Pushed left side key and mute button at same time, then one followed by the other...... Now I know answer! You do have to hold the mute button a while, though, and there is an audible confirmation of the profile change. Cool.

Since this toggles between your current and last profile chosen, I created another profile that is the same as vibrate. So if it gets changed again by accident, I'll still basically be in vibrate mode
