Default Removing The AT&T Banner

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to remove the AT&T banner and replace it with something else (like my name). This is the "AT&T" banner right under the AT&T logo and above the bluetooth icon (if bluetooth is on) located in the top center of the screen. This is under the default theme.

Any inputs is appreciated. Thank you

Wirelessly posted (8320 Curve: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Yeah. I know, well pretty sure its possiable. There's a vendor.xml somewhere in the system. If you do a full backup, you can find that file. It should be in there somewhere.

Unluckly, that's all I can tell you

Dan - you are wrong. It's not in there.
Take a look.
Seriously, please...

VENDOR.XML has nothing to do with the backup.

PLEASE.

You can't change the name of the network you are on. If it's on a wallpaper that you're using then it can be changed. If not, NJBlackberry is correct. You're out of luck.

and vendor.xml has nothing to do with it.

that's what it's on, the original wall paper. the reason i want to change it is because i have the actually AT&T logo with icon and right under it i have the AT&T banner.

how do i go about changing it? do i have to use a different wall paper or is there a feature that i can just edit it.

I think what he might actually be referring to is the banner on the AT&T theme? What theme are you using? Cause i konw that AT&T logo on that theme does take up some useful real estate. Try out the T-mo zen theme and its a lot less cluttered up top.

***edit****

just saw your post, so u think its wallpaper? Have u tried changing your theme?

Go to Media >Pictures >Preloaded or your own pictures and set one of them as your wallpaper.

Or as the gibber says, change the theme.

I use an unlocked AT&T BB 8300 curve. I am using other themes the only problem is when I boot up my phone it starts with AT &T logo. Can this logo be changed to something else like a welcome note etc.

Kindly guide

You can't change the boot up screen. It is burned into the firmware and is not changeable.

The startup logo can never be changed.

only way you can chnage the network name is if you change it on the sim, its a lot of trouble of programming the sim just to do that tho

I think they're talking about the startup splash screen when the device boots up. That cannot be changed. It's hard coded to the device.

Yes that is what i am saying about, but there must me a way to remove or change it.

There are masters over here to do it. Brush your brains.

Nice.
You figure it out. Obviously we are not smart enough to do it.
It can't be done. Feel free to try, however.

Unless you can change the hard coded branding of the device, it can't be done by anyone outside of RIM.

If we close this thread, the question just gets asked in a new one. Why not keep it all here, sorta like an asylum, at least it keeps the neighborhood clean.
