I just bought a Pearl 8100 and have been having some issues with the desktop software and connectivity. The software cd came with older software and the ATT website has a link to v4.2 SP2. I checked the blackberry site and there was yet another newer version, v4.3. Should I load the newest version?

BTW, I am going to update the software on the device with the latest version also, as is refferenced on this site. I think I may have messed something up on the phone as I can not access help files on the blackberry device. So I am going to use that utility for wiping and re-install the device software/OS.

Any help or comments are much appreciated! Thank you.

No I would not use 4.3 because there are still too many bugs with this version.

No need to wipe it, just install the new O.S. on your computer and load onto the BB.

I have noticed on that the BB downloads for Rogers has removed version 4.3 and the latest version available is 4.2.2. Coincidence? I think not ...

After reading about all the problems with 4.3 on this site, I decided not to risk it. Now all I'm waiting for is a device update to enable A2DP!
