i upgraded the OS and removed some files (i actually just renamed these files by putting OLD in the front of the file names) i didn't need (mostly net_rim_theme_*) files...now i want to add one of those files back to the OS...how do i accomplish this?

what i tried was going back to the OS files and removing OLD from the file i want to add...connected the BB to my PC and went to the app loader within Desktop Mgr...i thought it would add this file back...the only thing it attempts to do is remove the calendar patch and two google lib files...

suggestions?

Did you edit the Blackberry.alx file to add those themes? If you never edited the blackberry.alx you'll need to do so. Here's a link that will help:

no..not trying to add vendor locked themes...i freed up space by renaming the files in my \shared\loader files\OS\Java\ directory:

net_rim_bb_media_320x240_b.cod, net_rim_bb_medialoader_video_83xx_320x240.cod, and all net_rim_theme* files (12 in total) except for net_rim_theme_bbdimension_zen_320x240_b.cod. (these were renamed by adding OLD to the beginning of the name.)

now i want (need) the net_rim_bb_media_320x240_b.cod file back on the BB...that's why i tried removing the OLD from the beginning...

It's possible that it won't tell you it's loading it back. Just go through and see if it does the job.

finally got to try to add the file back tonight....it worked...it didn't say it was gonna add it, but once i clicked next it added it back...
