Default Sprint Blackberry Data Plan - Now $40?!?

Please Login to Remove!

Okay so who has the solid details on the blackberry unlimited data plan?
I got an 8130 about 3 weeks ago and the sales rep said I would need the unlimited data plan that ran $30. Apparently this included unlimited web, text, email, navigation, and sprint tv.

A couple of days ago I had to have my phone exchanged and # changed because of technical issues. I just checked my account and now it says I have the "Unlimited Power Vision/Blackberry Pack" for $39.99 and am being charged for 13text messages... as if text messaging wasn't included on the plan!

Also I downloaded sprint navigation and used it yeseterday. Now when I log in it says "If you do not have a Nav. Business, or Ultimate Pack , your trial expires in 14 hours 16min." I dig the program but don't want to be charged because I don't have the right plan. What a mess!

I can't find anywhere on the Sprint site that states the details of the blackberry plan and why it is $39.99 now instead of $30. Help!

TIA

The power vision BB plan is what shows on my invoice for the BIS plan. The charge is $30, plus $9.99 for being an additional line on our family account .... so $39.99.

Could that be what you're seeing?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)

You've been switched to the BES plan with PAM. If you want the other one, call and ask to be switched back.

My first bill with this phone doesn't close and post for 2 days.
Looking at my current plan, this is what is posted...
.............
Your Current Plan

Unlimited Power Vision/Blackberry Pack $39.99

Call *2 from your PCS Phone or call 1-888-211-4727 for info about your subscriber agreement.

Nation Wide Long Distance

Unlimited Sprint Mobile to Mobile Calling

Night & Weekend Minutes - Nights starting at 7 p.m.

............
So this may be the $30 plus the $9.99 because it is a 3rd line.

DJM2- What is PAM?

Yea, the Sprint site isn't updated yet to advertise the Power Vision Blackberry Pack (its official title), so you can only see it when ordering new service. Here's the direct link though to its description:

Sprint had to switch me a couple of times plus I had to make several phone calls before they got it right. At first they put me on the $30 plan, but it didn't include corporate email push through BIS. Then they put me on the $40plan and told me EVERYTHING was included, but then they tried to charge me for text messages. The problem with Sprint seems to be that their customer service people are not familiar with the Blackberry plans and can't figure out which one works and what should be included. At least now they've sorted it out, so my data plan IS unlimited, including unlimited text messages and unlimited tethering. It's annoying to have to go through so many phone calls, though. Now they've come out with the Simply Everything plan, which sounds really good, but tethering is NOT included. The unlimited Mobile to Mobile is a bit misleading, though, since it's only for Sprint, and just about everyone I know is not with Sprint. The phone comes with GPS navigation; I use it with Google Map and haven't tried it with Sprint Navigation. I'm afraid to check my online bill and find I'm being charged if I activate it.

I have the $39.99 Blackberry unlimited plan but no text messages are included. The Simply Everything plan won't work for me since I use "phone as modem" all the time. Are there different $39.99 plans?

I have a BES plan and text messages are not included. You may want to clarify.

If you want the $30 plan (which includes unlimited text and navigation) PLUS PAM, you can pay them an extra $15 for PAM ($45). This is indicated at the bottom of the description of the $30 plan. Basically, get that if you're happy with the $30 plan (i.e., no BES), need PAM, and think that it's worth $5 for unlimited text and navigation. If not, then go with the $40 BES/PAM plan.
