Default Still can't believe it isn't possible.

After all of this time, there is no way to silence the shutter on the camera (8130). No one has found a way to do this (other than the headset workaround)?

Well you could always rip the speaker out of your phone if it means THAT much to you!

Maybe someone will come up with something!

Good luck!

Just plug in the headset. That will silence the shutter sound.

Such a simple solution JC

Hehehehe, I hate the shutter sound on the 8300 series, hopefully they will come up with a true fix sometime soon. Although, I think I would rather have the camera "sound and all" ... Been missing one in 8830 land.

there is a reason you can't silence the shutter sound. It isn't a bug

Works for me if I'm playing a song in the media player with the headset plugged in. Not that I need to silence the shutter sound

If you have key tones set to "no" this may or may not work (does on my 8100)
Call your voicemail through your speed dial, pressing the speed dial buttons doesn't make a sound (with the keytones off as I said before). Turn your sound down (if your trying to be sneaky sneaky) then go and enable your camera. Your phone stays in the call, and then there's no out loud sound for the camera!
A few people have tried to just tweak the coding on the OS and delete the sound, but that's ended up with losing all functionality of the camera

Other than this, and the headset option, there's no other way... Guess they don't want us taking pictures of our drinks during meetings

-edit-
I like how so many of these topics have popped up recently! I was going to copy and paste this into the other one, but ehhhh I don't care enough

Hey hey! I take pictures of my cat, Cleo! She wakes up from her funny sleeping positions when that shutter sound goes off though
