Default 3G coming in an 8300 series?

Please Login to Remove!

I am considering switching to a BB 8300 for my ATT Wireless account, but was curious, is there any information about 3G support being put into the phones? (Never, 2 months, 6 months, 9 months...) Any information greatly appreciated.

If its not a planned feature, I might get the phone now. If its a couple months out, I might just suffer with my Treo 750 in the mean time.

Thanks.

ummm never... you need a 3g radio in your phone for you to get 3g (which NO CURRENT bb has, rumor has it, the new 9000 series might)... its not a softawre upgrade.............. to learn more about 3g try going to google and search it, and read up on it

There will be a 3G-enabled BlackBerry out, supposedly, in 2008. Probably not the next two months, but more likely around summer of 08. There has been much discussion of this over in the Rumor Mill section of this forum.

The 83xx series will be released on Verizon, Sprint et al by spring-summer 2008.

While it is debatable whether EVDO Rev A is 3g, it will be the fastest data available on a 83xx series BB.

The new 9xxx series Blackberry JSanders refers to will be 3g and will have an all new design.
