Does anyone out there own a Mac? If so, is it possible to download ringtones from itunes onto the BB. Came close with Bluetooth but "transfer failed".
If not, where can you get ringtones? Any help is much appreciated.
mount the media card as an external drive and drag and drop. if the itunes files are protected then burn them to a disk and then rip them off to transfer to the media card.
Unfortunately, I have yet to get the media card. I am assuming I can get these anywhere. Can you tell I am totally new to this stuff. So happy to have found this forum.

I have an 8130 and can't seem to find the recipe for mounting the media card. I have mass storage enabled on the device and have it connected via a usb cable but I don't see how to proceed from here.
Hey Artsigirl - I have a Mac laptop and a new BB Pearl and I use Bluetooth to send files back and forth without needing a media card. When you say iTunes ringtones I'm not sure if you mean just any file that is in iTunes or the actual iPhone ringtones - which only seem to include the ones that I guess you can buy through the iPhone. However I just drag the song from iTunes to the desktop and then bluetooth it to my Pearl. You can do this with almost any audio file that you have or find on the net - you don't even need to involve iTunes in the process (unless it is a DRM file of course - then just follow the previous suggestion about that).

To be honest, I am not sure if you can send files under BT in lepoard, if so, can you explain how did you do it. Because I am having a hard time trying to figure it out.
Actually I'm still using 10.4.11 so I don't know about any Leopard issues with Bluetooth. I sure hope there aren't any as I hope to upgrade in the next month or two.
Tried but no success. I have Leopord so I am wondering like gmerk said if that is the problelm. Works fine with the media card though. Let me know if I have any other suggestions. I appreciate your help.

I'ver tried this and just about everything people are suggesting to send music via BT to my BB (8830). First of all, I can only choose a folder by the name of "preloaded ringtones." Secondly, when I select "save," the BB says "connection failed 100%" Help???
ringtones are available in some many places over the internet but i usually make my own by slicing down an mp3 to a 30 second section to use as a ringtone.
if you have a media card you can either use bluetooth or transfer the song to your BB via usb cable and can use that song as a ring tone but it will alwasy start at the begining of that song.
I just cut up ringtones from MP3's in GarageBand. Then email them to myself. Save it, and it's done.
The ringtone creator in iTunes will only work on purchased songs. :P They really should open that up for all music files, or it least for Mac users. ;)
