Today I sold 16 iPhones!!

Despite my efforts to get them to choose the BB.

A few of them I even said " ill see you in a few days when you decide to go to a BB"

When getting your email reliably and timely BB is the way to go!

I like the Iphone as a fun geeky device but I need the BBs security and email!

That and BB have this totally rockin kick but forum to use for help!

True definitely a good sales day as far as iPhones are concerned!

Great feature attainment to! And accessories were out the roof!

But it burns me to know some of those will be back, experience tells me that!

I hate burning devices like that

some? you are looking at 2-3 coming back on average, and more if they want to specifically use email. and burn all the iphones you want, they are good for propping up tables anyway

Actually we don't see to many returns if we do it is due to coverage typically!
I think we had three returned in all of January

BB's about the same generally if they are returned it is a manufacturers defect and the replace with another BB! (normally users cause some sort of software conflict)

Or it is to much phone for them.

I agree when ever I sense these types of customers I try to persuade them to something more suitable

EZ,
Are you on salary, commision, hourly or some combination? Do you lose income if someone brings back a phone? Kinda curious how the phone sales/service system is set up. Interesting details welcome.

almost always sales are based on commission. usually some hourly base on top of that, but commission is *usually* based on net adds/upgrades

I can understand that response though...some people want all the bells and whistles...but dont have enough patience to get to know the phone so...what they really want is a phone, and pretty much thats it

Agree-I think a lot of folks get a phone because it has a buzz around it, without researching whether it meets their needs. This is where the "why do I need a data package on my account?" questions come from.

A good salesman -- my definition of a good salesman -- finds out what you need, tells you what his product will do for you, is more or less honest about what it won't do, or won't do well, and in essence helps you make an informed decision. EZ, if you are doing that and the customer chooses the iphone, you are doing your job. If the customer ends up not being satisfied, then the customer wasn't honest or didn't know his needs. That's my perspective. And FWIW, out of the six or eight reps I've encountered in our local tmo store, one guy knows blackberrys and another guy knows enough to know to ask this other guy for help, and the rest pretend they know blackberrys.

Yep I know the most about BBs and the other reps in my store know a bit they always ask me when they aren't certain. When I don't know the answer I come here to find it or RIM's site

In my store we are all pretty good at making sure the customer gets what fits their needs. Yes many come in because of the buzz I agree

You must be in a Corp AT&T store to sell Blackberrys and Iphones. Have your manager talk to your data manager (or talk to them directly) and ask for a training on Blackberrys. You will most likely get me, though there are 3 others you might get if they send a rep. If you are selling 16 iphones in 1 day, Blackberry really needs a presence to help you turn that horrible horrible habit around

I am in a Corp store

I sell far more BBs than iPhones, was one of those freak days. Most were people " I want the iPhone" assess their needs ask questions make recommendations "I want the iPhone"

okay Mr or Mrs customer

Were these 8GB or 16GB iPhones?

The release of the 16gb might account for the surge in sales. New products tend to do that
