juwaack68...Need your help
Please Login to Remove!
You gave me some great advice last week on comparing the 8830 and 8130.
I decided on the 8830 and purchased it on Saturday.
Of course I still have so much to learn about this device but I have synced it and it loaded the things I had put in the Outlook calendar to my BB. However, it did not sync any of my contacts over to my BB. I had made a subfolder of addresses, phone #'s that I did not want synced to BB but it did not sync any.
What am I doing wrong? Can you help?

you have to configure the sync for Calendar, Memos, Tasks, and Address book contacts seperately. did you go through the sync setup for all four? and i know i am not juwaack, but i am better looking? (ok, well that last statement is absolutely false, but the info i provided earlier was correct)

Hey Shoppergirl, good choice you made!
As for the contacts, are the ones you want to sync in the Contacts folder?

I don't mean to sound dumb but I did so much when I got this on Saturday, I honestly don't know. And there was a problem with the 1st CD I got and had to go back and get another one so that sort of messed things up. Because it allowed me to do some of the things to set up and then CD was scratched so I had to get 2nd disk to do the rest. I did uninstall first program and reinstall 2nd but I may have missed doing something. I really don't know.
Oh wait, I must have set it up because it tried to sync every single person in Contacts and that is why I did subfolder.

If your Calendar sync'd then the program is working. It may just be a matter of setting up the correct folder to sync the contacts.... Try this:
1. Connect the device to your PC
2. Start up Desktop Manager
3. Double click the Intellisync program
4. Click the Configure Synch button (another window should open)
5. Click the Address Book to highlight it and click the Choose button (another window will open)
6. At the bottom of this window, does it show your mailbox and the correct folder you created for contacts?

I have a contacts folder and then subfolder of ones that I don't want synced. And before I created this subfolder it tried to sync all of them but after subfolder done, it doesn't do any.

Okay, I have a problem....when I double click App Loader, it starts the Wizard, goes to a screen Device Application but there is nothing there, just a button labeld "Add". I don't get a Configure Sync button....

Yeah and again, got a problem apparently. I do synchronize and it just goes through steps and doesn't offer for me to do anything.

When you double click the Intellisync icon, you should get a window with 2 tabs at the top. Click the 2nd tab and should now see a Configure Synch button....

Ok, duh, long day like you said. I got it, I got it.
Thank you so much. Sorry to be such a dummy. When I set this up, I guess I did not do it correctly but I was stabbing in the dark on how to set this all up without any instructions.
Thanks again.
