8300 -> 8100 -> 8320

What a week for me. Went from the Curve 8300 to the Pearl 8100 and then to the Curve 8320.
I really liked the size of the 8100. And the smaller keyboard was no big deal. I'm not sure how some folks are actually faster on it than the Curve keyboard, but this did not slow me down.
My biggest complaint was the Media Player on the 8100. I use this device as my MP3 player. On the 8100, it will not shuffle your songs if you use a directory structure of music/artist/album/song. The new OS, someday, will fix this. But for now, at least on a GSM carrier, you can't do this. The aftermarket media players were of no help either (perhaps because I also have .WMA files -- I'm not sure).
The other big disappointment for me was xColorEvent. I was very excited by having the trackball possibly light in different colors depending upon the sender of the e-mail. This never really worked for me. Perhaps it lit very briefly, but it was nothing like the way BB Alerts handles the LED.
So now I'm back on the Curve, and I do like the 8320 considerably better than the 8300. First, over WiFi, and no Mobile Network, I can get to my BES and BIS. Second, the Media Player on the 8320 is better than that of the 8300 (shows album art). The only downside of the 8320 (T-Mobile) vs my AT&T 8300 is the trackball. The 8320 is grainier, almost crunchy. For that matter, the Pearl trackball was the smoothest of the 3.
Back to work now...I'll try the Pearl again when they have the 4.5 OS on a GSM carrier.
