Default AT&T 3g Sim Card???

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I'm new here and I have a 3g Sim Card and I was wondering if it would work if I put it in an Unlocked Blackberry 8100 that's on its way? If not then is there a particular kind of AT&T Sim Card I would need? I have a 3g Sim card put into a cheap Nokia phone right now and it seems to work but don't know if it would work in the blackberry pearl. Any answers would be helpful!

3g sim card? Do sim cards have to be enabled for it for 3g to work?
Well, I had 3g on my old nokia phone and that sim card works fine in my 8100 pearl.

Is it the new At&t Sim Card? Blue and Orange looking and says 3g on it? The only reason I'm asking is because I researched it and people where saying blackerry doesnt support the 3g network but also some people said there 3g sim worked in it like you so im just lost whether to know if it will work or if i would need a 64k sim card.

There's no such thing as a 3G SIM Card.... it's just a SIM card. A normal, every day SIM card.
The 3G written on it is merely advertising for AT&T, to let users know that they have a 3G network. Marketing, and nothing else. They started doing that years ago, around the introduction on the BlackJACK.

The card will work fine for you.
No worries.

Thanks alot! I was kind of worried if it would work or not because i researched a little bit and some people said in order for a "3g sim" to work in a blackberry that the phone itself had to be a 3rd generation phone which they say blackberrys are currently not so i dont know lol.

The only problem is AT&T perpetuates the myth by telling customers that you MUST have a 3G SIM to get 3G service. LOL Been through that argument with many a business support call center twit.

If the AT&T BlackBerry device is unlocked, then yes.
