Unhappy Retrieve email from BB to Outlook?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello!

Have a BES/Exchange user who was archiving all of her mail onto her local hard drive. Hard drive crashed and now she has lost a TON of email. A lot of it is still on the handheld...

Whats the best way to grab email from the handheld and put it into outlook? Should I use intellisync? with handheld wins... will that work?

Searched through the forums but couldn't find anything, would appreciate the help.

I think next time maybe you should post this in the admin section.

When you move an email from your inbox to a local folder, it is not flagged in your blackberry so the messages in your handheld still think they are in your inbox. There are a few ways that might work, but it could be annoying. You could resend all the emails to yourself and that way they would show up in your inbox.....or,

you can go into desktop manager backup/restore and backup all your 'messages.' I am not sure, but there might be some way to import all of those into outlook. Maybe someone else can enlighten us?

To be honest, I don't think there is a good way to do this. Syncing (even with "handheld wins" only works with moves and deleted; it will not carry the e-mail back from the BB to Outlook).

In 4.1 in the fall, RIM says they are fixing a lot of issues with local folders and wireless sync. I guess this thread is a lesson in preforming backups.

Sounds like your out of luck xylene. Synchronizing only does address book, calendar, memopad and tasks. Like NJBlackBerry said, it will not carry email from the BlackBerry to Outlook or vice versa. It can reconcile, but not synchronize email.

I actually found a solution I think for you.

Open up desktop manager and go into Intelisync.

Then go to Confirgure PIM

Select what you want ..........

oh damn, there isnt a 'messages' option. Grrr, so close. Sorry man, can't really think of anything else.

I have posted in another thread regarding trying to retrieve my memopad files from a sync or a backup. Do you know where the sync'd memopad files go to?

Synced memos go to the "Notes" section of Outlook. Not sure about other PIMS.
I don't believe there is any easy, or programatic way to read the memos from the BB Backup files.
