Default HELP! Formatting Blackberry 8703e from Telus

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys

What i want to do is format my BB 8703e from Telus, and put the Bell Mobility software on it. I tried using BB Manager and it says I do not have the correct software for my BB 8703e. Im assuming thats because I needs Telus software?
Is there a way around this???

Thanks!

Jeff

Hey Jeff, here is the latest version of the OS you need for the 8703.

Follow the directions exactly as posted there, and you will be fine.

You can't remove the Telus splash screen when the device starts up.
It's not possible.
If you have a Telus branded device, it will always show the Telus splash screen on boot up.

If you're just using a particular theme that has a Telus background... then just change the background or switch to a different theme.

You probably can't... and you never mentioned that's what you wanted to do.
You only said you wanted to load Bell software on it.

Can you get your 8703e unlocked and will Bell allow unlocked non-Bell devices to be activated on their network?
Even after that, you'd need Bell to provision a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account.

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
Have you called Bell to see what they say?

One thing is for sure... it's got nothing to do with the software loaded on your device.

Pay per use is not possible on a BlackBerry.
You need a BlackBerry Data Plan.
A Dealer should know this.

With bell you can use Bb Messenger pay per use for exmaple.
I also added and removed a data package. No such luck.

I am not able to use DATA on this device. Can you suggest anything that could maybe help in that situation? I know it could be just.. im[possibe. due to using a Telus phone with Bell... what do you think?

You added and removed THE BlackBerry Data Plan from Bell on the account.

Removed it?

No wonder it is not working. It must be enabled, in order to work.

j2zuc3 ... call Bell, your carrier, and have them add a BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN to your account.
You need it. I'm not sure why you refuse to accept this.

Without the BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN, you won't be able to do email, web browsing, IM, BlackBerry Messenger, PIN messaging, or any other kind of data transfer.
You have a phone with SMS.

They probably added the wrong plan when you asked them to add a plan.
If you added the plan yourself, as a dealer might do, you probably added the wrong data plan yourself.

One thing is for sure... without the BlackBerry Data Plan properly provisioned on your account, you can stop trying to get any data to work. Instead of removing the plan entirely... perhaps you should have had it switched to the correct plan.
You're running yourself in circles now.

Look at the front of your device... what type of signal do you have?

1x, 1xev, 1X, or 1XEV ?

You didn't add THE Blackberry Data Plan, did you?

I'll repeat, without THE Data Plan, you certainly should not expect it to work.
