Use BB 8830 From Belarus

Hi,
I am planning a trip to MINSK next month and want to use my BB8830 ( Sprint) there with local GSM card.
1.WHAT GSM card to buy?
2. Will it work? It should be unlocked By default from the Sprint store. 900/1800 mhz supported there.
Friend with BB8320( T- mobile) used his there, no Data but phone was working.
Any home work needs to be done before I leave US?
