Exclamation Getting "Delivered" messages in MY sent box from OTHER people's devices??!!

Please Login to Remove!

For some time now I have been getting messages from other people's devices popping up in my sent boxes, both in MS Outlook and Gmail. I'm using BIS with a Blackberry 8310, AT&T.

I'm getting messages that say they are from me and it always prefaces the original subject with "Delivered,"
and the body says:

Your message was delivered to the recipient.

For example, if Bill sends me an email with subject "Party tonight" and even if I do not respond, I get an email in my Gmail sent items saying "Your message was delivered to the recipient" when I did not send the email nor did I even respond to it on my device, even though the message says it is from me.

Again, these are showing up for emails that OTHER PEOPLE with BB's send to me, and they show up in MY sent box. Why??

I guess they obviously need to disable the "delivery confirmation" settings on their devices, but isn't there another way for me to block them?

Try this.

Go to Messages, Options, Email Settings and Change Confirm Delivery, Confirm Read and Send Read Receipts from Yes to No. Save and Close.

I already did that a while ago for all of my email accounts.

Say for example that you were to send me an email on my Blackberry - I would get this same "Delivered" message in MY sent box, even though YOU sent the email. Does that make sense?

I guess I just need to physically grab my friends' devices and shut off the confirm delivery, huh?

Or is there any other way around it?

These are return receipts. The sender of the email is requesting a return receipt. By default BIS email account request return receipt for messages sent. Nothing you can do about this.

Just in case anyone has the same issue it WAS because the "confirm delivery" was set to "Yes" on the OTHER people's Blackberries.

I grabbed their devices & set delivery confirm to "NO" and I no longer get the messages!!!!!
