Default Pearl gone berserk

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

My pPearl has recently started acting like it has a mind of its own.

For e.g. it starts going through menu option, clicking email- send- save draft - etc.
Is this a virus of some sort?

thx for your insight.

It doesn't have to be dropped in water. Rolling the trackball with a wet hand or even a very sweaty or wet face (answering the phone before drying off) can do it.

ok thanks. So you are sure too that this behavior is because of moisture-damage?

any suggestions to remedy my situation then?

Try replacing the trackball.
I believe Horizon Wireless sells them.

It seems to be the only thing that causes random activity in the phone. The moisture short circuits things on the board and it will never work the same. If it was recently exposed to moisture you can pull the battery and let dry someplace warm but it sounds like it's been going on for a while. If the liquid damage indicators are not tripped and you are still under warranty you can try exchanging it.
