**Testing with multiple 4.2.x.x RIM OS Devices, specifically an 8800, 8100, 8310, 8820
**Using EDGE data service from AT&T(wireless) [8310, 8820], AT&T(cingular) [8800, 8100]
What I am stumped on is what settings would allow a WAP browser to access a pURL.
Symptoms:
[8100] - Biz browser gives error: "A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy..." | Data symbol shows green and working | Arrows show server transaction | Full service
[8800] - MediaNet browser gives error: "Unable to connect to the internet ... " | Data symbol shows red, however the Biz browser shows green and working | Arrows show a data transaction | Full service
[8820] - *Works fine
[8310] - *Works fine
I have tried to match the settings as best as I can between the devices that are working and the devices that are not.
I am familiar with RIM and Blackberry products/functionality but when it comes to network settings I have a little above average knowledge of what should be set.
Measures taken:
~Re-registered Service Books (bold and non as well as reboot the phone)
~Tampered with settings (specifically WAP related settings)
~Pulled out Battery while on
~Turned service on and off
~Tried different locations
~Cleared RMS
Only measures that I know of that I have yet to try would be some sort of hard reset. I do not currently know how to do this. The option to clear a device does not actually clear everything (keep in mind email and personal data does not matter to me on these phones).
After knowing this my main question would be: What haven't I don yet? Does anyone know what the problem is?/related to?
My attempts are to pinpoint the problem in order to repair the connection on all dis-functional devices at the moment.
It would most definitely not be that. This is a testing facility and as such gives as much freedom to our devices as possible. The only reason I would be confident is that these devices have been used previously with no ailment. My guess is I tweaked a setting of some kind. Resetting the device or back to defaults still didn't work so I'm puzzled as to what was set previous to now.

Just to cover all fundamentals...handheld registered with the network? (HRT) and Service Books all accounted for? Can you send PIN messages with one of the disfunctionals?
Ya I re-registered with the HRT a few times now, as far as I know all the service books are there (I assumed this would be fixed if I pinged the HRT), I just did a few PIN to PIN messages and they went through successfully

I removed:
Browser Data Cache
Browser Folders
Browser Urls
RMS
The device acted the same. On the 8800 its just the MediaNet wont show that its connecting to data. Th 8100 just loads a full request and then tells me I cannot display or download the page because the connection was lost.

I get EDGE and the phones show around -80dBm as well...
I checked the 4 phones mentioned in this post and the 2 that worked had a substitute for the Cingular Browser and Cingular WAP secure Transport. It was a series of MediaMall service books all ending in a category followed by a "config".
The phones that currently aren't working are missing these service books. Do you know how I can get a hold of them manually?

Without going through an OS reload and resending service books after that, I would just call AT&T and tell them you are missing service books for these IMEI devices...
