Um, no, they are designed with a magnet, by RIM, on purpose. The magnet puts the device to 'sleep' to help conserve the battery.

This would be a resounding NO they are not bad for phones. As juwaack said the devices are specifically designed for use with a magnet. not an opinion, just a fact.

I agree also.
In fact I have used a holster w/o a magnet and installed 1 in it.
Works great.

The magnet in this case is weak and don't have any affect and now I told one big NO.

Oh we are all certainly allowed opinion, but this is a goofy reason for a poll. Of course the magnet does not hurt the BB, why would RIM actually manufacture the holsters with the magnet and place their name on the holsters?

ive never been able to get mine to work like that! can someone point me in the direction to find this option on the phone? all Ive seen is different ringers/etc when in/out of holster
