How many of you all are experiencing this error even though you know you have "sufficient" memory. (i.e. the app you are trying to download OTA is 65kb and you have more than, let's say, 1500kb).

During an internal beta, about 20% of our users are unable to download the test app OTA even though they have the memory for the app.

Anyone know of a workaround? Is a user SOL if they get this bogus error message?

Any clues or hints or comments would be appreciated. Please indicate in the poll included if you have had this happen to you and you are certain you had enough memory to accept the application OTA (over the air).

make sure to restart the hand set every few days ( + + )


Also, you may want to hold and then hit l,g,l,g to clear the log. A more expensive approach would be to get a bb with more mem. but thats ur choice.

The system indicates it has plenty of memory but for some reason, the MIDlet response in the java code has evaluated the memory condition on the device incorrectly. I don't believe this is an actual memory issue rather I suspect there is a bug in the OS when it is processing the JAD file after the user requests to download the OTA app.

Through this post, I was trying to get a sense of its frequency. I found several places within this forum where people have experienced this issue (notably with 7750s and 6230s). I wanted to contact RIM using our partnership account to see if they can't investigate this issue further. We have a large number of enterprise customers who will most likely experience this issue and we want to see if we can't head off the problem with a little pro-active intelligence gathering.
